Allow items to be marked as "in stock" , "Ordered" or "Need to Order"

It would be helpful for keeping track of orders if we could individually mark an items status so we can track what needs to be ordered, what's already been ordered and what's already in stock.

This is something we're grappling with now. The big jobs are getting bigger and timelines are getting longer and we need to be able to manage partial deployments and long gaps between phases.

Yes please. Also, being able to associate an item with an order number that wasn't generated by Portal would be great.
