We are going to add two links to the top of payment requests...
- 'View Proposal' which will download a PDF of the client version.
- 'View Invoice' which will download a PDF of the invoice version.
We are adding this now and should have it live on the site in the second week of August.

Kirk Chisholm will we have the ability to send an invoice of say just the deposit amount? Rather that the entire invoice. Most builder request separate invoices for all their payments. Also maybe a line item to attach PO numbers?
Kirk Chisholm
Chad Sanchez No, not for this update. This was the most efficient way for us to solve the problem for now. Later this year we're actually going to build an entire Invoices module, and then you'll have the ideal control.

Looks like this has been 3 years in the works. When will you release this update? It is very unprofessional to have to send something twice to get the information across.

Thanks for considering adding this feature. Right now we are sending a payment request (which is somewhat vague), along with a note that a follow up email will arrive with a detailed project invoice in a separate email. It would be great if we could add a link to the invoice or attach a PDF copy with the payment request.

Hoping this request will go live very soon as builders are not excepting the payment links as a form of a invoice.

When will Portal have more accounting-accurate documentation within every proposal? Maybe have this function as a populated attachment to the payment requests sent feature?
The feature of the downloadable invoice's version and the payment request function should correlate that invoice information requested in the form of the corresponding dates and it does not currently at all. This makes invoicing around Portal.io proposals have to be done and entered on third-party software which I believe would be a huge value add to the platform if I didn't have to.
If I could invoice with accounting standard formatting, the example provided in the image attached below, alongside or at the same time as making the payment requests this feature would go a long way for us users.
Invoicing right now for anything except for total proposal cost payments is clunky and my customers and their accounting teams have not been happy with the formats of the downloadable invoice versions or the payment requests (Except after all payments have been made and I have clicked receive payment and done this entry of all of the payments requested, then the downloadable invoice version reflects the accounting and invoicing properly.) and they often ask a ton of questions that bogged down our time to get things done in collaboration.
The invoice style/ format would have to clearly state what payments have already been completed with dates, what payment amounts are being requested and due on what dates, and the effects of these payments on the invoice against the remaining total cost for the signed proposal. This would be even better than how even QuickBooks reflects the information with their currently offered functionality.
Feel free to reach out to me anytime with questions as I am eager to get this implemented. :)

YES PLEASE NEED THIS ASAP!! BUILDERS AND DEVELOPERS WANT PDF INVOICES FOR EACH PAYMENT WE ARE REQUESTING!

I just had a second builder call me and tell me they could not accept my payment request as they do not have a invoice attached to it. Typically a home owner will sign off on a project and accept the estimate. Then we invoice the builder the work done and they send the invoice to the bank for a release of the funds.
We already have a hard enough time getting paid through builders to have one more hitch in the process.
Square and quickbooks both have the option to attach a file or view the invoice.
I know there is a invoice version directly on the software when we are creating. So maybe a link that is tied directly to that?
