This is done and live on the site now. If you try and edit an accepted or completed proposal, a snackbar will pop up letting you know it's locked for editing.
This is the foundation for us to start building change orders, where we will allow you to proceed with your edit, but it will need to be added to a change order.

Locking will also help prevent accidentally editing the original proposal when you clone / make a copy / duplicate of it. I intended to modify the copy I made, but often edit the original by mistake.

It would be nice to be able LOCK a proposal so that accidental changes are not made and to prevent the accidental sending of the proposal. It would be nice if the proposal text was in a different color with a LOCK Icon next to the quote.

We have esimates built that we pull rooms out of saving us hours of work. Sometimes changes are made to the master estimate causing chaos. Having the ability to simply lock and unlock a estimate would prevent though and would be huge for us.

Or maybe, if locked, have an “edit” button that automatically adds changes to an area named “changes”

Yes & No, if they get locked. how can we tweak add-on items to jobs before sending to QBO? I find myself changing back to edit status quite a bit.

Kirk Chisholm: Should have the ability to lock section of the proposal, not just the whole proposal. We often have several changes throughout the project, but once the change gets added to the contract, it must be locked and any additional changes must go into a new section of the proposal.
